celadon news & updates
Dec. 3, 2007
I've been busy this fall organizing a series of events with Noise Poet Nobody - see elemental abstractions.
The shows have been going well. I posted videos from the shows on my new video page, including two new songs I performed in October.
Our final show of the series is coming up this Saturday Dec. 8.

I just finished my first celadon track since I completed my CD 18 months ago - Flinders.
This is a noisy little beat piece I put together for a local compilation.
How time flies when you're having fun - I've been so busy performing and working on other projects, I didn't realize how long it had been since I seriously
worked on any celadon material. I promise I will get my nose (and contact mics) to the grindstone now!

The tour was fabulous - we played two shows in Brooklyn, did a 2-day workshop and performance in Glasgow, and a performance in Barcelona. We met a
lot of cool, nice people - special thanks to Chad, Minna-Ella and Lydia for putting up with us! We did not get enough time in Barcelona - just long
enough to climb the towers of the Sagrada Familia and then perform Lucifer.

I've been very busy getting ready for our Seattle performance of Lucifer and our upcoming tour. I hope to see you all at one of our shows. I'm especially
looking forward to Barcelona - I've even been studying Espanol (though of course, they don't actually speak it in Barcelona...). I also want to send a big thanks
in advance to chvad of Things Outside the Skin for all his support. Please check out his music and also
DarkSonus.com, which he runs and has really been improving.

I have posted saemskin's remix of Earth Abides (13 MB). Nice and dark... I'll be playing with
In the Deep Museum and providing a set of industrial music at an erotic art opening this Thursday at Gallery 619 Western in Seattle.

I have finished my remix of the Noise Poet Nobody track. It looks like both Saemskin and Noise Poet Nobody will be including my remixes
on upcoming releases, so I won't be able to post them here. I should have a Saemskin remix of my song Earth Abides to post soon, though.
Also, my cd is now carried by Forced Distribution - please check them out!

It looks like I will be collaborating on videos for a few of the tracks on Post-Industrial Delicacies. very exciting. I don't know when
I'll have anything to display, since we are just starting to plan the effort. I have also been working on video clips of various performances
for the new deathposture.org Web site, including the Lucifer performance we did in New Orleans.
It should be posted in a few days - please check it out!

I've finished my remix of Ode to GG by Saemskin. It's pretty intense - took a while for me to get around to it, but then once I knew
what I wanted to do it came together quickly. Now I need to finish the remix for Noise Poet Nobody.

I think we may finally be done mixing The Altar of Dead Women! This has been quite a journey... and there is still quite a ways to go
before it is offered to the unsuspecting public. It sounds amazing, though, and has been a lot of fun to work on. It will probably be
available in the fall of 2007.

I've been getting more reviews and radio plays, which is encouraging.
I've also been making a lot of new shirts - I'll post more photos as soon as I get a chance.

Rending Sinew, the rock band I've been in for the last couple of years, is no more. I'll be able to spend more time now
focusing on my other projects: promoting my cd, working on new celadon material, finishing Altar of Dead Women with
Vanessa, and performing with In the Deep Museum. Still plenty to keep me busy...
January 13, 2007
I have begun two remix projects - one for Saemskin and another for
Noise Poet Nobody. Very different projects, both good challenges.
The Saemskin is really beat-heavy but has some very moody elements. The Noise Poet Nobody piece is 12 minutes of percussive noise
and drones (he has a fascinating setup with a contact-mic'd stringboard).

Sorry, I guess I got a bit busy there and didn't update for a while... well, what with the holidays and all the gigging and whatnot.
We had a good show down in Portland, OR and an excellent event jamming wih many different musicians at COCA at the Ohana III event
(thanks Sheri). I just found another new review today... not very flattering. Oh well, at least people are listening. And I am
certainly keeping busy with three events next week and 100+ packets to send out this weekend...

The first review of my cd is in... Royce Icon of Industrial.org wrote an excellent missive,
overall quite encouraging.

Thanksgiving... I am thankful for good friends to jam with and a cool wife who doesn't mind our practicing on a holiday (and even
jammed with us for a while!). Here's a clip...
November 19, 2006
We had our first Rending Sinew practice in over a month today; it went pretty well, considering... I was not sure I'd still
remember all the parts.

Vanessa and I hope to finish recording Altar of Dead Women by the end of 2006. The piece includes spoken word,
soundscapes, music, songs, and more. This project has been amazing,
I don't think I have ever heard anything like it before. I do not know when the disc will be available -
hopefully sometime in 2007.
